I just finished grabbing texlive7-1-20020508.iso.bz2 for a look.
This first thing I noticed is that, when mounted on a rockridge aware
os, several of the files which should not be +x are. Most of the
russian readme and html files in the root directory, all of the
regular files under Books/lgc, etc.
find $MOUNT_POINT -type f -perm +111 -ls
Those files should be audited to ensure only executabes and scripts
If desired, I can send a list of those that need to loose their
execute bits or, if prefered, those that should retain theirs.
